TO PROVIDE MILITARY PERSONNEL WITH A VISIBLE REMINDER OF THE HOLY IN THE MIDST OF COMBAT AND CHAOS!!   PCCMP supports the worldwide communities of people in which our military personnel are serving; pastor our far-flung chaplains and support them in their ministry and touch the lives of the military soldier’s family.

CHAPLAIN WILDHACK’S REPORT

Tom --

Last week I started a rotation to a nearby desert air base (sorry I can't tell you more about where) when the USAF Protestant Chaplain had to go home on emergency leave. I'm still officially at NAVCENT, but I'm spending 3-5 nights a week in the field. Today is my second Sunday here, and I have at least one more before ACC gets the guy they've tagged to complete the rotation here. Also, we should get a Navy Chaplain coming with some Marines in the next week or so. Until things settle down, I'm on loan from NAVCENT.

Yesterday, I took part in a memorial service for the seven Marines who died in that C-130 crash last week. A small det from their squadron is here, and the USAF and other Marines wanted to honor them. We packed the base theater, and the Ambassador surprised us all be deciding to come at the last minute. Mark Tidd was down from NAVCENT to attend. The USAF priest here did the Gospel, meditation, and a prayer; he had me lead the rest of the service. I hope to have pics of that from PAO shortly, but haven't gotten them yet.

The regular schedule here includes both "traditional" (at 1100) and "contemporary" (at 2000) Protestant services, along with an Intro to Christian Faith study on Monday nights at 2000. I realized part of the way through last Sunday that I hadn't preached since World Communion Sunday in October. It's nice to be out of the office and back in hands-on ministry.

Let me know if you'd like more pictures or some other kind or resolution of pictures. I can get just about anything to you. This
email address is one I can access from any web browser when I'm out of the office.

More some other time...

Very respectfully,

LCDR W. A. Wildhack III, CHC, USNR
Reserve Chaplain
